Hypoplastic left heart syndrome
May 2, 2011 | 12:01 a.m. CDTHydroplastic left heart syndrome is a condition in which the left side of the heart is underdeveloped, which causes problems for blood circulation. At its simplest, it affects only the aorta. More commonly, it affects most of the left side of the heart.
