Volunteers help break Guinness

From left, Elizabeth Petersen, age 4, Morgan Petersen, age 9, Kaitlyn Griggs, age 6, and Rod Petersen take shoes out of their bags and line up them up on Stankowski Field for the Columbia Shoeman Water Project on Saturday. Volunteers came to be a part of the Guinness record-breaking event where 416 bags of laced shoes were unpacked and tallied. In total, 12,480 pairs of laced shoes — 24,962 shoes — were collected.
