Free vision screenings in Spanish at health department

The Boone County Health Department, in partnership with the Missouri Lions Eye Research Foundation, is administering vision screenings in Spanish.

One disease the screenings test for is glaucoma, which can damage optic nerve fibers and visual fields. Tamara Oberbeck, a test administrator, said it’s especially important for Hispanic adults to get tested.

Screenings are free and held at 6 p.m. every Monday through July 18 at the health department.
