MAP: How Columbia and Ames, Iowa, bus systems compare

Columbia city officials visited Ames, Iowa, on Friday to ride its buses and learn how the transit system works. The trip to Ames, home of Iowa State University, is one of three excursions city officials are going on to explore effcient college town bus systems in search of a solution for Columbia’s financially faltering system. The maps below show how bus routes, highlighted by colored lines, connect campus and downtown areas in Ames and Columbia.
