Columbia Fire Chief Charles Witt takes on dancing for fundraiser

Kansas City based instructor Lila Shultz guides Columbia Fire Chief Chuck Witt in learning a dance at Studio B on March 17 in preparation for this year's Dancing with Missouri Stars event. The event will be held on May 17 and benefits the Missouri Contemporary Ballet.

Charles Witt, the Columbia fire chief, began his firefighting career at age 14 when he joined the Junior Firefighters in Sullivan, Mo. and said he is still humbled by his promotion to fire chief in 2011.
