MAP: Flat Branch tested for contaminants
April 18, 2012 | 5:44 p.m. CDTPetrochemicals and low levels of oxygen were detected in water samples taken from Flat Branch after the April 1 fire at O’Reilly Auto Parts. The Department of Natural Resources and Missouri Department of Conservation each tested Flat Branch in three locations for contaminants after an estimated 14,749 fish were killed in the creek. The Department of Natural Resources said it’s not considering additional action at this time.
