Water bottles hang Thursday on the corner of Orr and Walnut streets in preparation for Artrageous Fridays. The bottles were hung by sixth-grade art teacher Amy Company's Eco Art Club and the Art Academic Lab from Smithton Middle School. The project is meant to be a commentary on how many water bottles people use and, in turn, throw away without thinking. The bottles were brought in by students in the sixth grade at Smithton Middle School. The project will hang until the first full week in May.
Smithton Middle School sixth-grader Grace Teddy, 11, hangs water bottles Thursday with Smithton's Eco Art Club and Art Academic Lab for Columbia's Artrageous Fridays on the corner of Orr and Walnut streets. Grace joined Eco Art Club because she loves the idea of turning trash into art. She wants the water bottle project to remind people that they need to use reusable water bottles.
