Seven fire trucks responded to a Wednesday afternoon barn fire at a property northeast of Columbia. No animals or people were injured in the fire.
Firefighters attempt to extinguish a fire Wednesday afternoon at Glendale Farm. The Boone County Fire Protection District responded to the barn fire at 4550 N. Glendale Drive at 4:14 p.m. The cause of the fire is unknown, but officials said they did not suspect foul play.

No animals or people were injured in the fire that occurred Wednesday afternoon at Glendale Farm. However, according to Battalion Chief Gale Blomenkamp, the fire burned equipment inside the barn worth more than $250,000. The fire was expected to burn throughout the night with fire crews and farm workers monitoring the barn.

A barn fire at 4550 N. Glendale Drive was still being fought at 5:30 p.m. The fire is contained to one building and poses no immediate danger to any animals. Gale Blomenkamp of the Boone County Fire Protection District said firefighters might be there until 10 p.m.
