Yun Fan's leafy creation

June 5, 2012 | 7:58 p.m. CDT
Yun, a Chinese paper-cutting artist, holds up one of the leaves with a lion and birds she had previously created. After cutting them, the leaves go through a six to eight-month preservation period using Fan's own procedure with tea extract. This will make the leaf stiffer and ready to frame. Fan held demonstrations Saturday at the 54th annual Art in the Park event at Stephens Lake Park.
