CHART: Study finds correlation between sexual orientation fluctuation and alcohol misuse
June 8, 2012 | 1:01 p.m. CDTMU Assistant Professor Amelia Talley and other researchers have found a correlation between sexual orientation fluctuation and alcohol misuse, such as uncontrolled drinking and withdrawal symptoms. Sexual orientation fluctuation is an experience involving the exploration and integration of a transitioning sexual orientation. The findings of this research as measured by negative alcohol-related consequences are shown below. The data was collected from fall 2001 to spring 2005 and was measured by students’ years in school.
