Neighbors in the Golden Beach community on the Lake of the Ozarks have reacted to a July 4 accident by trying to improve the wiring of docks and increasing swimming and electrical safety. Two children died from an electrical shock while swimming in the lake.
The Anderson family house sits on the Gravois Arm of Lake of the Ozarks in a community known as Golden Beach. Melinda White, a former nurse who lives near the Andersons, was one of many residents who came to the family's aid when she heard children screaming. Adults worked together to give CPR to two children who received an electrical shock until paramedics arrived on the scene.
