A rain garden outside the Missouri Department of Conservation

July 13, 2012 | 7:11 p.m. CDT
A rain garden outside the main building of the Missouri Department of Conservation is displayed in the picture on Friday. According to the signage by the garden, storm water entering a rain garden will slowly soak into the ground, reducing the water flowing into the storm drain and nearby streams, rivers and lakes. Rain chains are hung from the roof of the building to help storm water fall into the garden.
