FFA Organization and 4-H member Brianne Abramovitz shows her cattle all over Missouri, including at the Boone County Fair.
Brianne Abramovitz, who has been showing cattle through the FFA Organization and 4-H since she was 10, guides four show steer into the barn at 7 a.m. for feeding and grooming Friday.

Each morning, Brianne Abramovitz prepares individual meals for animals, which have different dietary requirements.

Brianne Abramovitz and Taylor Fredrick routinely bathe and groom the many show steer and heifers in the mornings to keep them prepared for various shows. The bathing process includes hosing the cow down, conditioning them, combing, and then drying to achieve a quality coat.

Taylor Fredrick combs the wet hair on her show cattle, Mator, on Friday. Mator is of the Hereford breed of cattle. Fredrick got involved in cattle showing recently and just competed at her first show, taking third in her class at Prairie Farms on Thursday.

Brianne Abramovitz ties one of the show Herefords in the barn as their day of feeding and bathing begins Friday south of Columbia. Once Abramovitz turns 21, she will no longer be able to show cattle at many competitions, but she will continue to raise cattle for show and pursue her degree in veterinary medicine at MU.
