MAP: A third power option for south Columbia residents

August 23, 2012 | 7:17 p.m. CDT
Two years after submitting their original plan, Columbia Water and Light officials have created a third option to increase electricity in south Columbia with new power line routes. Unlike previous options, Option B-2 pushes west of the city. This allows the power lines to be built far from city homes, a major complaint with other options. As with the other options, the plan includes the construction of a new power substation at Mill Creek to increase power reliability.
