Construction continues around Battle High School. The principal hopes the school will be operating in time for 2013 summer classes.
In April 2010, Columbia residents voted to build Muriel Williams Battle High School and construction began in June of the same year. Kim Presko, school principal, says the school district hopes to have the school ready for summer classes in 2013.

Battle High School will have two gyms, one for varsity competition and the other for practice and class use. Kim Presko, the principal, says the two gyms will help accommodate physical education classes for grades nine to 12.

The football field at Muriel Williams Battle High School is directly behind the school. The stadium will seat 3,000 on the home side and 1,300 on the visitor side.

According to Kim Presko, the principal of Battle High School, in each wing the rooms are painted with the same accents. Presko says there are approximately 90 classrooms in the school.
