First-time blood donor asked to lie down
October 15, 2012 | 5:01 p.m. CDTAbbi Sandweiss, a junior at MU, donates blood at the 27th annual Homecoming Blood Drive Monday afternoon at the Hearnes Center. She was asked to lie down because she was "hot and dizzy." Michelle Ridgway, Collection Technician at Columbia Red Cross, said that first time donors are asked to lie down as it eases the blood flow and regulates body temperature.
