Columbia has been working to improve safety for bicyclists, but some problem areas still remain.
A man passes the bike corral Monday outside of Kaldi's Coffee on Ninth Street. The corral was part of the first round of improvements that Columbia made after receiving a grant to improve cycling conditions and accessibility.

Cars drive past a stop sign at the intersection of Cherry Street and Providence Road on Monday. This particular intersection is a difficult place for cyclists to ride because of its narrow path and restrictive visibility of passing cars.

Sasu Siegelbaum rides down Providence Road on a daily basis to get to and from the Missouri School of Journalism. He had an accident in mid-October near Walgreens. Providence doesn't have a bike lane so cyclists are forced to ride on the sidewalk.
