According to the latest records from the Missouri Century Farm program, there are 7,846 century farms in the state. In 1976, the program launched and started its Centennial Farm project, which awarded certificates to people owning farms that had been in the same family for 100 years or more. The program was initiated by the Missouri Committee for Agriculture, the Missouri Department of Agriculture and the MU College of Agriculture. This map shows the number of century farms in each county.
