The Niedermeyer house is the oldest building in Columbia

The Niedermeyer house is located at Tenth and Cherry streets in downtown Columbia. The apartment building, which was built in 1837, is the oldest building in Columbia. It has been an all-girls private school and was used to house Union soldiers during the Civil War.
