John Sam Williamson's soybeans sit in water
June 10, 2013 | 6:00 a.m. CDTFarmer John Sam Williamson has planted 700 out of 1,070 acres of soybeans so far and, as of Wednesday, flooding has killed 5 percent of his crop. During an ideal year with mild weather, all 1,070 acres of soybeans would be planted at this point, he said. His farm is 1,400 acres.
