Buddhist celebration

The Vipassana Buddhist Church-Center for Buddhist Development held its seventh annual Vesak ceremonies in Jefferson City. Vesak is a major Buddhist festival celebrating the birth, enlightenment and death of Buddha. The center had crafts for children, such as face painting and mandalas, or sand painting. There was also a birthday cake for Buddha.
