Former Missouri pitcher Kyle Gibson wins debut

Pitcher Kyle Gibson, a former Missouri standout, joined the Minnesota Twins' rotation this week after starter Mike Pelfrey was placed on the disabled list because of a strained back. Gibson allowed two runs and eight hits, and struck out five to win his major League debut Saturday in a 6-2 victory over the Royals.
