Michael Wooton stops to take a break from the MR340 race Wednesday at the Katfish Katy's Campgrounds checkpoint. Taking its name from its 340-mile long length, MR340 is the longest river race in the world. It starts in Kansas City and ends in St. Charles. Wooton raced for the first time last year and decided less sleep is one way to improve his time. He has slept one hour since the race started at 7 a.m. Tuesday.
