Fast-food worker protests at Taco Bell

Dontay Tolston, an employee at the Hardee's on Providence Road, protests to raise wages Thursday outside the Taco Bell on Nifong Boulevard. Fast-food workers and supporters also gathered earlier in the day at the Hardee's on Providence Road. "I believe in the cause. The younger generation is coming up, and they shouldn't have to deal with what we're dealing with. We gotta stand up together — if we don't stand up together, they'll walk all over us forever," Tolston said. "A person getting paid $15 an hour doesn't have to worry about getting a side job or rob or sell drugs," said Tolston, talking about the "big picture."
