Rain dampens first day of pumpkin festival
October 13, 2007 | 12:00 a.m. CDTCousins Janelle Williams, of Mexico, Mo., and Bill Stewart, of Columbia, head back to their car with a wagon full of pumpkins after a rainy morning at the Hartsburg Pumpkin Festival in Hartsburg, MO on Saturday, October 13. "We usually make a day of it," Williams said, "But it's just too wet."
Despite the weather, several hundred people still turned out to partake in the Festival.
"We're taking these home for pumpkin carving — indoors, where it's dry and warm," Stewart added.
