A rare Pennyroyal Caxton Bible has been donated to MU's Special Collections and Rare Books department.
Alla Barabtarlo, head of Rare Books and Special Collections at Ellis Library, looks at an illustration of Jesus in Chapter 11 of Luke in the Pennyroyal Caxton Bible that recently donated to MU's rare books collection. Once cataloged, this limited edition hand-made book will be available to the public for viewing.
"Job Enters the Wilderness" is an illustration in the Pennyroyal Caxton Bible, a limited edition Bible recently donated to MU's rare books collection. The relief engraving prints, a process similar to wood block printing, were designed by Barry Moser. According to the publisher, this is the first edition of the Bible since 1865 to include original illustrations by one artist for every book of the Old and New Testaments.
