Jim Thiemann of Jefferson City directs the positioning of artist Beth Nybeck's sculpture "Tidal Murmur" outside the new Short Street garage on Thursday. Nybeck, an artist-in-residence at Battle High School, was awarded $58,000 from Columbia's Percent for Art Program to create public art for the new garage. She noted Columbia's energy and the ripple effect as inspiration for the piece.
