A group organized by the Columbia chapter of Missourians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty gathered Tuesday at Boone County Courthouse to protest the execution of convicted serial killer Joseph Paul Franklin. A federal judge Tuesday night granted a stay of execution to Franklin because of a pending lawsuit filed by Franklin and other death row inmates challenging Missouri's execution law.
