Wiley Miller, far left, of Columbia, gathered with others Tuesday, Nov. 19, to protest the execution of serial killer Joseph Paul Franklin. "I'm opposed to the death penalty," he said. "It's a barbaric practice, and we ought to be better people than this. It doesn't deter murder, and it doesn't provide resolution for anyone directly or indirectly involved. Families of victims are not benefited by having a person killed."
