Fish ecologist explains history of Asian carp

Quinton Phelps, a fish ecologist with the Missouri Department of Conservation, explains the history of the Asian carp in Missouri as ecologist Sara Tripp filets one at the North Village Arts District Farmers & Artisans Market on Sunday in Columbia. The Asian carp was introduced into the United States to improve water quality at aquaculture farms, and it escaped into rivers after a series of catastrophic floods.
