Reginald R. Robinson has played at the Blind Boone Ragtime and Early Jazz Festival since 1994. He developed a passion for ragtime growing up in Chicago, where he still lives. Robinson’s family could afford neither a piano nor lessons, so he taught himself to play on a small electronic keyboard. In 2004, he was granted a $500,000 MacArthur “genius” award, earning him national attention.
