Cathy D. RichardsCathy Richards cites many life lessons she believes make her a good candidate. She has an associate's degree in fine arts and is working on a master's degree in counseling. For more than eight years, Richards has been office manager for the Boone County Commission. Richards is married to Michael Richards and is the mother of four. She loves sports and art. After growing up on a farm near Harrisburg, she moved to Columbia, where she is involved in volunteer work for the United Way and mentoring a child into adulthood. She believes the public administrator should put people foremost in the job. "There is not a stranger to me. I always try to make people my friends wherever I go," Richards said. "You never know when you may have to call upon that friend for help, and I want to be available for them as well." |
