John D. SullivanJohn Sullivan has a bachelor's degree in speech and drama and a master's degree in public administration, with an emphasis in gerontology. He has worked as a city manager, nursing home administrator and insurance agent, among other jobs. Sullivan loves cooking, gardening, making wine and serving the public. He is married to Suzanne Sullivan, and they have eight children. He grew up in San Antonia and lived in Nebraska and Aurora, Mo., before coming to Columbia. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He believes his desire to help people trumps all his other qualifications. "Prestige isn't what cuts it," he said. "It's being a good quality person." |
