Christopher W. DwyerChristopher Dwyer is the Libertarian candidate. He is a part-time farmer, a part-time businessman and a stay-at-home father. Dwyer says he wants to replace the state income tax with a consumer sales tax. That, he says, would draw new business to Missouri. As a believer in citizens' personal responsibility, he says government should stay out of health care and stop insuring people — except children — with conditions that are the result of lifestyle choices, such as smoking or being overweight. Dwyer says state government has been wasteful over the past four years. He cited approval of a bill declaring a "state dessert" and a practice by government agencies to spend down budgets on unnecessary supplies at the end of the fiscal year. |
