Name: Craig Kuligowski

Age: 40

Children: Peyton, 15; Madeline, 12; Max,4.

Known to many as the defensive line coach for Mizzou's football team, Craig Kuligowski holds another important job as the father of his three children, Peyton, Madeline and Max.

While his time on the field has taught him lessons he never expected, he says his children have taught him the most about what it means to be caring and supportive.

"Each child requires special parenting skills," he said. "You have to learn how to deal with each one and love each one for who they are and teach them how to be the best child and future adult they can be."

Together, the Kuligowskis are a fun-loving family, enjoying outdoor activities such as boating, tubing and fishing, and indoor ones such as Guitar Hero. And, of course, they are football fans.

Kuligowski's wife, Mary, said he knows how to mix being the tough guy and the loving, hands-on father.

"The kids love it when he's around," she said. "His greatest strength may be the kid in him. He still likes to play, and he's very competitive."

Some things have changed for Kuligowski as his children have grown, however. He has found himself dealing with unexpected challenges, including the impact of technology on his children's lives.

"The kids have more things to play with, and they are still bored," he said. "My 4-year-old has become an avid YouTube watcher."

As for what he's learned in 15 years of parenting, Kuligowski cites patience as the most prominent, along with his realizing of just how special his children are. He hopes his time with them gives them the tools to be generous, successful people.

"To live a good life, to be a contributor to society and make things better around (them) and to love each other," he said.

"They should look back at me with love. I hope they will."
