Downtown businesses competed against one another in the living window display on Friday.
The Fortnightly Children's Playgroup rings bells at the Broadway HyVee on Friday in honor and memory of Dr. Carey Southall, who died earlier this year. Dr. Southall was a professor at the MU School of Education and a long-time supporter of the Salvation Army. His wife, Lola Southall joins the group by ringing a bell.

A letter about the potential impact of cap and trade legislation on MU
Friends, family and coworkers gathered outside the Activity and Recreation Center on Thursday to celebrate the lives of Karen Kahler, her daughters Lauren and Emily Kahler and her grandmother, Dorothy Wight. Karen Kahler was a personal trainer at the ARC and a close friend to many co-workers and trainees.

Mandy Sutherland leads a chant, "Forsee lacks foresight," during a protest against University of Missouri System President Gary Forsee's stance on cap and trade legislation. Forsee sent a letter earlier this week in opposition to federal climate change legislation. Protesters demonstrated on Thursday outside of University Hall.
