Caritas Habimana is developing a center to carry on her life mission of providing assistance to African refugees resettling in the Columbia area.

Habimana teaches African refugees English a couple of days a week. The refugees prefer lessons with her over lessons at Douglass High School because Habimana speaks their language and is a close friend.
The number of refugees from across the globe has increased in Columbia over the past two years.
