St. Louis hosts International Science Festival
Over 10,000 visitors from across the world are expected to attend SciFest '08, also known as the International Science Festival. Beth McClure, the St. Louis Science Center's public relations manager, shares what's in store for visitors and how St. Louis came to host the festival. Calvary Episcopal Chapel holds pet blessing
Calvary Episcopal Church held their annual pet blessing ceremony Wednesday, Oct. 1 during St. Francis of Assisi Day. Members brought their pet cats, dogs and even a snail to the evening Eucharist, then led them to the courtyard to receive a blessing from the Rev. Paula Robinson and the Rev. Amy Chambers Cortright. The congregation offered prayers and thanksgiving for the companionship and joy they find in their pets.

Eid al-Fitr celebration
AUDIO: Hundreds of Muslims gathered to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the end of Ramadan and their month-long fast. The Islamic Center was too small to hold all the celebrants, and so they gathered at the Knights of Columbus. Yet even it was too small to hold everyone.
