Competition will run Thursday through Saturday at the Central Missouri Events Center.

Contestants in the Mid Missouri Soap Box Derby raced Sunday in downtown Columbia. The free, family-friendly event featured racers who range in age from 7 to 17 and hail from Columbia, Ashland, Boonville, Eldon, Harrisburg and Rocheport. The competition is split into three divisions: stock, super stock and masters.

The Horstmeiers of Horstmeier Farms are looking to sell 20 acres of their property to Eichelberger Farms to be developed as a confinement hog operation. Some Callaway County residents, however, will meet June 10 to discuss the proposed hog farm planned for a site near State Road HH. The project is not definite, but residents still wanted their concerns and questions addressed about the 10,000-hog facility.
