On Saturday, museum-goers will be encouraged to slow down at the third annual Slow Art Day at the Museum of Art and Archeology. The event is being held from noon until 2 p.m.

The team of Papa Goat and the Three Kids won the Iron Chef Mizzou competition Wednesday night. Four teams of students headed by professional chefs competed at Bengal Lair in Memorial Union.
Hickman Kewpies defeated the Rock Bridge Bruins, 3-1, Wednesday at Hickman High School.
Missouri played Missouri State University in baseball Wednesday at Taylor Stadium. The Bears defeated the Tigers 4-2.
Missouri softball played Western Kentucky in a double-header Wednesday at University Field. The Tigers lost the game 1-0.
Rock Bridge defeated Hickman in match play Wednesday at the Country Club of Missouri.
Jared McGriff-Culver didn't get a lot of playing time at Missouri. He doesn't expect to be picked on draft day, but with the support of his mother, he is determined to steal a spot on an NFL roster through preseason invites.

The Kewpies defeated the Comets 11-7 Monday in Columbia.
Last week's rains brought on sudden flooding throughout the Midwest.
Columbia College won 6-0 against Benedictine University at Springfield on Monday afternoon. The game was a continuation of a game that was started last week in Springfield but delayed because of weather.

Blue Ridge Elementary School celebrated Earth Day on Monday by filling raised garden boxes with soil and going on a nature walk.
Participants go through shooting exercises to receive their concealed carry gun permit on April 14, 2013 at Target Masters. In order to get a permit, students are measured on a variety of training exercises.

Runners converged on Cherry Street for the Head for the Cure 5K on Sunday morning. Proceeds from the race benefited the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative through the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Runner Marc Keys won the event with a time of 17:50.

More than 50 boats were entered into the "Float Your Boat" race Saturday at Bass Pro Shops lake. The race was held as a fundraiser for The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri. Initial totals showed the race brought in more than $15,000.
