Tibetan monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery are creating a mandala sand painting through Wednesday in MU’s Ellis Library. The mandala is meant to rededicate the earth and represent a deity. The design, a combination of geometric shapes and symbols, takes about three hours to create using a ruler, compass and white pencil. by Sarah Morris
