These ice skates belong to Arthur D. Jacobs, one of about 15,000 German-Americans who were interned by the U.S. government during World War II. From age 10 to 15, Jacobs, the American-born son of German immigrants, lived in internment camps in Ellis Island, N.Y., and Crystal City, Texas.
