Examining a bat from Devil's Icebox

James Hayes, 9, of the Columbia Housing Authority Moving Ahead program examines a preserved bat Wednesday before going into the Devil’s Icebox cave at Rock Bridge Memorial State Park in Columbia. Meredith Donaldson, a state park volunteer, told children in the program that two species of bats live in the Devil’s Icebox: gray bats and Indiana bats.
