A Day on the Betty D
October 29, 2008 | 5:20 p.m. CDT
Art Robins, 87, takes his boat out every weekend with family and friends on the Missouri River near Cooper’s Landing outside Columbia. His boat, “The Betty D,” is named after his late wife, who died in 2005 of chronic destructive pulmonary disease. Art’s son, Mike, 50, navigates the boat along the Missouri River, and Mike’s daughter, Mila, also comes along for the ride. Art Robins’ wife died one month after he bought the boat. She never got a chance to ride on “The Betty D.”
