Summertime hockey

Whitney Briggs Memorial Arena is the home of Hallsville's Twisters roller hockey league, an oasis for hockey players all over Missouri. Briggs, who founded the league when she was in middle school, died in 2005. On Aug. 9, the league awarded a trophy bearing her name to the league champion.
