Ella B. Taylor
Ella B. Taylor of Ashland died Tuesday, June 23, 2009. She was 88 years old.
Mrs. Taylor was born Aug. 8, 1920, in Boone County to Atley A. and Mamie C. Pauley Sapp. She married E. Allen Taylor on Nov. 4, 1939, in Boone County.
Mrs. Taylor was retired from the MU athletics department. She was a member of the New Liberty Primitive Baptist Church and the Southern Boone County Senior Center. She served on the board of Rock Bridge Elementary School and on the PTA, and taught cooking and sewing in 4-H. She was also an avid quilter.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by a son, Kenneth Taylor of Columbia; a daughter, Martha Sue Hawkins of Ashland; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Her husband; a son, David W. Taylor; and a brother, Joseph A. Sapp, died earlier.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home, 601 N. Henry Clay Blvd. in Ashland. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Ashland.
