Thelma Anne Smith
COLUMBIA — Thelma Anne (Eilerts) Smith of Kingdom City died Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was 80.
Mrs. Smith was an artist, loved to travel, play cards and feed birds. She was a loving caregiver who, above all else, dedicated her life to loving her family.
Mrs. Smith was born Jan. 9, 1929, in St. Louis to Bernard and Hazel (Starkey) Eilerts. She married Jesse Smith on May 7, 1949. They had two daughters, Karen Smith and Donna Kaiser, and one son, Mark Smith.
She is survived by her husband; children; a brother, Bernard Eilerts; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Nilson Funeral Home, 5611 E. St. Charles Road. Services, conducted by Chaplain Bart Wallace, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery in Jacksonville.
