Om Prakash Sehgal
Om Prakash Sehgal of Columbia died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009. He was 77.
He was born in Rawlpindi, India, on July 22, 1932, to Beharilal and Savitri Sehgal.
He married Toshi Dhody on Dec. 26, 1963.
Dr. Sehgal earned a Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1962 and began teaching plant pathology at the MU College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources in 1963. He retired as a professor emeritus in 2000.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Ravi Sehgal, of Columbia; a daughter, Ritu Sehgal, of Los Angeles; a brother, Rajinder Sehgal; and two sisters, Raj Khanna and Aruna Talwar, of India.
His parents and a sister, Usha Chopra, died earlier.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Parker Funeral Service, 22 N. Tenth St.
