Arley Gene Quinn

Arley Gene Quinn of Ashland died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009. He was 87.

Mr. Quinn was born in Boone County on Nov. 20, 1921, to Charles and Ruby Clara (Reid) Quinn.

He married Lois Lucille Pointer on Nov. 2, 1940.

Mr. Quinn was retired as the president of Teamster Local Union 833, and he was a deacon and member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sons, Edwin Jack Quinn of Ashland and Michael Quinn of Iola, Kan.; a daughter, Billie Jean Garrett of Ashland; two sisters, Myrtle Rippeto of Jefferson City and Lela Anderson of Hartsburg; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

His wife; parents; three brothers, Harold Quinn, Raymond Quinn and Art Quinn; and daughter Darlene Distler died earlier.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Robinson Funeral Home, 601 N. Henry Clay Blvd. in Ashland. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 21479 S. Mount Pleasant Road in Hartsburg. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
