Helen C. Albert
Helen C. Albert of Columbia died at her home on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009. She was 77.
She was born Feb. 27, 1932, in Itawamba County, Miss., to Cleveland Augusta and Kara Lee Pearson Powell.
Mrs. Albert married Donald R. Albert of Columbia on Jan. 30, 1970, in Birmingham, Ala.
For 19 years, Mrs. Albert volunteered at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Paul Houston of Columbia; her twin brother, Harold Powell of Senath; two other brothers, James Powell of Hornersville and Maxwell Powell of Cambridge, Ohio; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents; a brother, J.W. Powell; and a sister, Merlene Trefinger; died earlier.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 903 Bernadette Drive in Columbia. Services will be conducted afterward by Monsignor Michael Flanagan. Entombment will be in Memorial Cemetery in Columbia.
